At the age of 14, Michael made his first attempts at flying a kite. Shortly afterwards, of course, I got my paragliding license. After several years of competitive flying and winning the German Junior Championships twice, he traveled the world flying and combined his two great passions, travel and flying. Michael has also been working as a flight instructor for almost 20 years and has helped countless students to learn this wonderful sport. The Red Bull X-Alps brought him back to the competition scene and in 2005 he was the youngest participant in what is probably the toughest adventure race in the world, finishing in a remarkable 5th place. Today, he draws on his experience as a tandem pilot and partner at vogelfrei and as co-owner of flywithandy.com when traveling worldwide.
