Rainer Scheltdorf
AKA SCHELLI
“The feeling of taking off without an engine, becoming one with the element of air, carried by the wind and the sun.”
This is exactly what has fascinated Schelli (Rainer says no one :-)) about paragliding since his first flight in 1991 from Piz Da Volais in the Engadin. After turning his passion into his profession in 1993, he is still living his dream three decades later. After almost 10 years as a full-time flight instructor, he decided to offer tandem flying in the Allgäu for everyone and founded the company flyzone-Tandemfliegen mit Profis. Through his professionalism in tandem flying and his work as a photographer for renowned paragliding magazines and manufacturers, his name became known in the scene far beyond the Allgäu. Also Even today Schelli still enjoys cross-country and bivouac flying adventures in his free time.
“Giving other people this indescribable feeling of freedom and giving them a piece of the sky still brings me immense joy today. The beaming faces of my passengers after landing are reason enough, even after more than 30 years of professional flying, to keep taking off and giving people this unique experience.”
